Neera Scott
"The Mindfulness Coach"
Neera brings around 25 years experience as a meditation practitioner and yoga teacher and is a professionally accredited mindfulness trainer and coach. Having began her meditation and yoga journey around 1992 while pregnant, Neera went on to undertake regular 10 day retreats and intensive daily practice. This lead her to do a yoga apprenticeship in 1996, and in 1997 Neera spent a year in India under the instruction of Jnana Yoga master HWL Poonja, where she studied the more subtle aspects of the teachings.
After teaching on training programs in Australia for a number of years, Neera was subsequently invited to lead programs internationally, from workshops and teacher trainings throughout Europe and Nepal, to conferences and retreats in various locations around the world.
Now based in Sydney, Neera works as a specialist coach and mindfulness consultant in both corporate and personal development settings. Neera has gained accreditation with The Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership and with the global mindfulness consultancy Potential Project. Her work with executive wellbeing has been profiled in several business journals including BRW, Company Director; by The Australian Institute of Management and in Mens’ Health and Yoke magazines. She is credited on the author team of the recent Harvard Business Review publication The Mind of the Leader.
Neera is passionate about the benefits of reflective practice for our pressured and over-stimulated times, when to simply take time out for ourselves can seem like a luxury, yet can be the vital circuit breaker that makes the difference between wellbeing and burnout.
While taking a personal and relaxed approach to teaching mindfulness, Neera emphasises the importance of cultivating a disciplined mindset, allowing us to better understand ourselves and achieve clarity around our goals.
